Deed of variation

August 18, 2016admin

We recently acted for a couple who were trying to sell their flat but were unable to as there was an error in the service charge contribution included in their lease. The percentage was much higher than what was payable in practice but this prevented them from selling their flat as it was an obvious error.

We were able to approach their freeholder to agree to vary the terms of the lease voluntarily without the need to go to the First Tier Tribunal, which saved our clients a lot of time and expense.

The documents were finalised within a matter of a few weeks and our clients were then able to sell their flat without any delays.
